Project Bumblebee: an AI-enabled autonomous tricycle

Our research and development project for what comes after the eTricycle: a vertically folding electric three-wheeler with smart features, health monitoring, remote access, and an app for riders and caregivers.

The idea

A vehicle that helps look after its rider.

Bumblebee brings together what families ask us for: independence for the rider, and peace of mind for the people who care about them.

  • Vertically folding frame

Compact enough for a hallway, an elevator or a car boot.

  • Health monitoring

Features that help riders and caregivers notice when something is wrong.

  • Remote access and app

One app for riders and the people who look after them.

  • AI-enabled autonomy

Smart and autonomous features, developed step by step with research partners.

Who's building it

Designed in Amsterdam, engineered with universities.

Bumblebee is designed with Springtime Design and engineered with university partners in Amsterdam and Delft.
