We’re starting work on a new project. Today we want to share what we’re building next: Bumblebee, a vertically-folding electric three-wheel mobility scooter and the most ambitious thing Pinge has worked on so far.
.
Bumblebee’s defining feature is autonomous control: it can drive and manoeuvre itself, controlled by the rider or remotely.
.
.
The problem
Most mobility scooters are bulky, awkward to store, and impossible to bring with you. Bumblebee is our answer to that. A patent-pending folding frame lets it collapse upright into a fraction of its footprint, so it lives in a hallway, fits in a boot, and travels the way its rider does. Built on the foundation of our eTricycle, it keeps the stable three-wheel stance riders trust and loses the bulk they don’t.
.
Key features
Bumblebee is being engineered around four ideas:
- AI-assisted riding that adapts to terrain and rider for a smoother, safer experience.
- Onboard self-diagnostics that monitor battery, motor and brakes and flag a problem before it becomes one.
- Remote access to locate, control, lock and check on the scooter from anywhere, useful for riders, families and carers alike.
- A companion app that brings settings, diagnostics and service into one place.
.
Who is it for
Independence shouldn’t have to look clinical. Bumblebee is a design-led product first quiet, considered, and made to be lived with, the same values that sit behind everything we make in Estonia.
.
What’s next
Bumblebee is in active development. The concept and research are complete; design and engineering are underway now. Through 2026 we’ll move into prototyping, testing and IP, then production readiness — with a first public reveal targeted for late 2026.
